How Does eSIM Work with GL.iNet Routers
1. Insert the eSIM
If you're using a physical eSIM card, please insert it into the router. If you're using an eSIM chip, simply power on the device to begin.
2. Access the Admin Panel
Open the Admin Panel on your router and navigate to "eSIM Manage" under the Applications section.
3. Purchase an eSIM Profile
Purchase an eSIM profile online and download the provided QR code.
4. Download and Install the eSIM Profile
Use the Admin Panel to upload the QR code to your router, then download and install the eSIM profile.
5. Enable and Connect
Enable the eSIM card in the Admin Panel and enjoy seamless internet connectivity.

Yes, itβs very suitable for travel. Users can purchase local eSIM data packages in different countries, avoiding expensive roaming fees.
Is eSIM secure?
eSIM, through digital management, offers higher security compared to traditional SIM cards. It is difficult to steal or clone and supports strong encryption protection, reducing the risk of cloning and tampering. Therefore, eSIM performs better in terms of data security and device protection.
How many eSIM profiles can be added in an esim?
The capacity of the eSIM profile and the storage space of the eSIM card are determining factors. GL.iNet's eSIM cards offer 380KB of usable space, and the eSIM profiles we have tested range in size from 10KB to 30KB. Currently, we have set a limit of 8 eSIM profiles per card, but this limitation will be lifted in the future.
Do the esim supports 5G networkοΌ
Support is available, but it depends on the eSIM profile you purchase. Most eSIM stores currently offer 5G compatibility. For specific details, please refer to the product promotional page of the eSIM store.
Can I download esim profile multiple times?
This primarily depends on the settings configured by the eSIM store vendor on their eSIM profile servers. The majority only allow for a single download, and any subsequent attempts will be rejected by the server.
